I know, I know. I'm a total slacker. I win the "Mommy Who Takes Tons of Pictures But Never Uploads Them" Award. Whoa is me!
Liam is now officially a big boy! We celebrated his 2nd birthday the same way we celebrated his 1st birthday; with our friends, The Duffs, over for chili, and the traditional Kelly Birthday Cake, Jell-O Poke Cake...Mmmmmm. We then celebrated his birthday again on our trip to Pittsburgh with Grandma, Uncle Chuck, Grammy, Pappy, and Uncle Johnathan. This time with a cook out and a Spider Man cake...Mmmmmm again! He got a Spider Man bike that he can't quite reach the pedals on yet, a sit-and-spin, 100 piece wooden blocks, a construction dress-up set, a Lightning McQueen shake-n-go car, a stuffed Spidy doll (I'm sorry, Action Figure), and some clothes.
Liam is a fiesty, but very happy little guy. He loves to color and draw. He likes to play with playdoh and throw balls. He loves the dog even though she's not crazy about him. His vocabulary is bounding, and he can say quite a few things very clearly. When asked what daddy does at work, he replies, "Catches Bad Guys!" and giggles with delight. He mostly loves his sister, and has started calling her Tiggy. We now all call her that, and I'm wondering if this is a name that will stick or if it will disappear when he can say Kassidy. He says "Please" and signs "Thank You" usually without being reminded. He does not like to be confined to ANYTHING, and would be happy to roam freely. We actually went to Target yesterday, and he walked along, and did pretty well. He came when he was called, and stayed with Kassidy and me. The down side is that it takes forever to go anywhere.
We haven't had his 2-year check up yet, but I can tell you that the boy hasn't gained much weight. I'll be surprised if he breaks 24 lbs. I'm interested to see how tall he is because he seems much taller, for him, recently.
We aren't officially potty training yet, but if Liam goes without a diaper he will ask to use the potty. I'm happy that he is taking to it so early, and I'm hoping it will be as easy as it was with Kass. We'll see.
Our struggles right now are "No!" and hitting. When Kassidy was his age, I had a newborn, so I don't really remember if she was the same way. I'm thinking not, but I don't remember much from that time. I'm sure it'll pass, and we'll just keep enforcing the laws-of-the-land.
I gave Liam his first Homemade Haircut. It turned out much better than I had anticipated and it saved me $15.00!! That boy'll be getting a buzz cut from now until forever!!
I think that's it for now. There are a bunch of new pics going up, so enjoy those.
Be Well and Take Care!! XOXOComments:Add a comment:
