Something impossible, and out of my realm of comprehension has occurred in the universe. We have reached the eve of Kassidy's 1st-Last-Day-Of-School. Tomorrow will be the last day of 2-Day-Preschool. Next year she will move on to 3-Day-Preschool and we all know what happens after that!!!

I have to say that we've gotten pretty much what I expected out of school. Kass already knew her shapes, colors, letters, numbers, etc. She can now, however, identify her own name, has started trying to write her name (although it has been a hurdle that has given her much grief), can cut with scissors, and is pretty good about staying in the lines. Kassidy's biggest challenge is that her WANT to accomplish a task is not in step with her ABILITY. This has not only caused angst and drama at school, but also at home. I have taken a step back from these things (mostly cutting and writing) and, for now, will subscribe to the school of thought that is, "she'll do it when she's ready". It's also hard to keep in mind that Kass is still 3-years-old, and some of the kids have been 4 since October. Huge difference when we're talking developmental milestones here, people.

Some positive things we were told at our end-of-year conference are that Kassidy is very artistic and imaginative. She loves art center, and the puppet center. She is concerned for everyone’s well being, and is quick to console when someone needs cheering up. One day a little boy got sick, and Kassidy was very concerned for his well being. She suggested the teachers call his Mommy, which of course they did. Obviously, she knew way more than 5 colors, and did well with letter recognition. She does very well during Show-n-Tell, and listens to the others until her turn comes.

All in all, we are happy with her progress through the year, and she enjoyed going. The summer will be busy with swim lessons and indoor soccer. However, I look forward to seeing what Kassidy's 2nd-First-Day-Of-School will be like and even more excited to see what she has accomplished when we reach her 2nd-Last-Day-Of-School.

Congratulations, Sweet Baby!!! We Love You!!!!!

Who are these 2 big kids living in my house??? I can't believe in a few weeks I'll have a 2 year old and a 4 year old running around!!

Kassidy is nearly done with her first year of preschool. It has been an interesting 8 months, but she did well for her first year, and I'm excited to see what she'll learn next year. She is getting more independent, and although it depends on the day, she can many things on her own. The other day I woke up and she still hadn't come into our room yet. I looked at the clock and it was almost 9 am. This an unheard of time for Kassidy to wake up (she usually wakes the rooster), so I went to check on her. She wasn't in her room, but I heard the T.V. on. I went down, and I asked her what she was doing. She said, "I was just lettin' you sleep". Now if I can only teach her to pour the milk on cereal we'll be all set. She loves anything to do with art, and has even taken an interest in the camera. She loves to carry it around taking pictures of everything. She is also VERY active, and loves to run around like a crazy person. Luckily Liam is now the perfect "Tag" partner, and they spend most of the day chasing each other around.

Liam is becoming his on lil' fella, and has a very strong personality. He is a total toddler now, and his favorite word is, "NO!!". It doesn't matter what it is, his answer is NO! He loves music; singing, dancing, playing guitar and piano. He has started sitting through longer books, and bedtime stories now take place in Kassidy's bed since Daddy is working evenings now and I'm on my own. I do enjoy that quiet time at the end of the day reading to both Kass and Liam. Liam's words are coming faster and faster. He can repeat, or tries to repeat, just about everything he hears. I've lost count of how many he can say, but I often understand him. His most favorite thing to do is Roar! When I go in to get him in the morning, he stands up, raises his arms above his head, and lets out a giant "ROAR". Silly boy.

I'm sad to say that the time has gone so fast, and I know so much has changed, but since I'm around all the time it just seems the same to me. I do know that Kassidy loves her little brother and that makes me very happy. I know that Liam loves Kassidy and that makes me happy too. They will often hug or give kisses to each other for no reason. Kassidy is fairly good about sharing with Liam and they seem to be very good playmates. I'm excited to see what the summer will bring with 2 "big kids". We don't have anything exciting planned, but it will be nice to be able to do things that don't include me standing behind a stroller all afternoon.

    Thanks for visiting!!! Take Care!!!
