Earlier today it hit me...Kassidy will be starting school in 1 month! I had been thinking about it off and on, but I was watching her play outside today and I was overcome with the notion that she will be going to school in about 4 weeks.
She has been very excited, asking nearly everyday if this was the day we were going to her school. She often says, "I'll miss you, Mommy." I'll say, "I'll miss you too, Honey. Where are you going?" She'll say back, "I'll miss you when I go to school." She runs the same routine with Bill.
For her birthday Kassidy got a very cute L.L. Bean backpack from our friends, Sam, Chris, and Griffin. It has been packed with the supplies from the list that her teacher gave us (2 rolls of paper towels, 1 pack of baby wipes, 1 can of Lysol, and a 4 oz bottle of school glue) and is waiting patiently to take it first of many trips to school. I can't wait to see what will come home in that pretty lime green bag with the purple and pink Hawaiian flowers. The possibilities are endless, and with Kassidy supplying the contents I'm sure it will do nothing less than amaze her Dad and me.
So, as we start August and wrap up what will soon be Kassidy's last preschool summer it makes me both happy and sad that she's grown up so much so fast. It makes me excited and apprehensive to think of all the things she will learn, see, and do without me. And it makes me laugh and cry to know that she is going to be fantastic at all of it!!!Comments:Aunt Missy: Our babies are growing up, Tiff :(Add a comment:
