Back in Ohio...FINALLY!!! It was nice to get away for a while, but we are all happy (but still adjusting) to being back in our environment.

As you can see from the pics and video, the ocean was a big hit with both kids. Kassidy enjoyed it much more than we had thought. I'm excited for a repeat visit maybe in the summer of '09 when Liam will be Kassidy's age and he can have as much fun as she did.

On a "bummer" note, Liam had a hard time sleeping past dawn the whole trip, and was screaming by 5:45 every morning. We are chalking it up to 2 new teeth that sprouted days into the trip. He was pretty miserable the first few days, but by Thursday night (the night before we left) he was happy as a pig in....well you know. While it did stink having to get up with him every morning, he and I did have some nice walks on the beach alone at sunrise, so that was a bonus.

After a week at the beach the kids and I spent another week with my mom and dad in Pittsburgh while Bill came back home to work. It was a nice visit, and Kassidy got to spend some much needed time with her cousins, Jason and Alyssa. I loved watching Kass and Lyss interact and play since Alyssa is only 4 months older than Kass. They were very cute, and Kassidy quickly declared her "My best friend". We also went to Idlewilde Park which was fun, but took a LOOOOONG time to get there, and a thunderstorm drove us out of the park a bit too soon. I vowed never to go back, but in retrospect, it wasn't that bad of a drive...I'm sure we will make another trip there once Liam is a little older!

In other news, we got the paperwork for Kassidy to start preschool. It's really going to happen; my baby girl is really going to go to preschool!! Holy cow, when did that happen?? I've noticed in just the past few weeks how much more independent she has gotten, and how well she can do things. She often asks if she can help me do something and even more often demands to do many things on her own. She has taken on a "bossy" streak that I'm hoping will be harnessed and pointed in the right direction once she starts school. After all, that is the reason we want her to go to preschool anyway. The kid could teach a class on shapes, letters, and colors, but she's lacking in her congeniality skills when it comes to her peers (adults love her)!

    Thanks for visiting!! Take Care!!
