Happy Birthday, Liam!!!
Has it really been a whole year already?? My goodness how the time has flown.
We celebrated Liam's birthday on Saturday with our friends. I made a Jello Cake, which has become our new traditional Birthday Cake and Liam had his own star shaped cake. There was no question if he liked it, just look at the pictures. We had a nice time, and I think the kids had fun.
Liam still isn't walking, but man that kid can crawl like a champ. I'm told that I didn't walk until I was 14 months old, so I'm sure it won't be long now.
Liam has started initiating play. When you lay him down to change his diaper he will put the backs of his hands over his eyes and wait. When you say, "Where's Liam??" he starts giggling and pulls his hands down really fast. Then you say "Peek-A-Boo!!" and he get's his big smile and wiggles around. Too Cute!!!!!!!!!!!!
We turned his car seat around, and he is greatly enjoying the DVD player in the van. So far there are no fights about what to watch, but I'm sure in another year or so that will be an issue...for now, he's happy with Dora!
Liam doesn't have a "hippo". We got him a tiger before he was born, but he hasn't seemed to take to it the same way as his sister. However, I'm starting to think that he has taken a shine to a blanket that my mom's good friend, Cheryl Kokoski got for him when he was first born. It has been in his crib with him since the beginning, and within the past few weeks I've noticed that he grabs a handful of it as soon as he's put into bed and chews on it. It's also usually stuffed underneath him or tucked under his arm when I go check on him before I turn in at night. Thanks, Mrs. K!!!
Happy Birthday, my big boy!!! I hope your second year is just as much fun as your first!!! We Love You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comments:Grammy & Pappy: Happy Birthday to youAdd a comment:

Ug...where has the month gone?? Things have been pretty ordinary and uneventful here. No new teeth or note worthy tricks to report.
Kassidy's vocabulary (and attitude) are expanding at a rate that neither Bill nor I can keep up with. Quite often something amazing comes out of her mouth and we look at each other and say, "Did you teach her that?" Her new favorite game is "I Spy", and we like this game because it is low impact, and usually quiet. Although, she has also learned to "give up" if she can't find our "I Spy" item, so we need to work a little on perseverance.
Liam seems to be eating like a horse; however, he hates to be fed. He protests (quite loudly) if a spoon comes near his mouth and there isn't some food item within grasping distance. He still isn't walking, and doesn't look like he will be by his birthday. Kassidy totally spoiled me by walking at 10 months. I always said, "I don't know what I'll do if I have a kid who doesn't walk until they are 14 months." I guess I'll know now. He has started climbing up the slide, which was a shocker when I found him sitting on the shelf of the cube (see pictures in May '07 album). Oh yes, my dear son gave me another "Heart Attack" moment last week. I ran upstairs to get my cell phone off of the charger in my room. I walk out of my room and there is Liam at the top of the steps!!! AHHHHH, I didn't know what to do...I wanted to lunge for him, but I didn't want to startle him and have him go head over feet down 12 steps. So I just quickly scooped him up and made a barricade in front of the steps with the Pack 'n Play since we have a weird staircase that can't fit a gate. Good times!!!Comments:Add a comment:
