Now that I can have relatively structured conversations with Kassidy they are getting much more enjoyable. Here is one from yesterday:
Kassidy, Liam, and I are riding in the van.
Kassidy: Where's Rose?
Mommy: At home.
Kassidy: At home with her Dad?
Mommy: No, she's at home with her husband.
Kassidy: Husband?
Mommy: Yeah, Bob. Can you say Bob?
Kassidy: Bob.
Mommy: Can you say Captain Bob?
Kassidy: Cap-in Bob.
PAUSE----
Kassidy: What kind of Pirate is he?
Mommy (laughing): He's not a Pirate, Honey. He's a pilot.
Kassidy: Oh, what kind of pilot is he?
Mommy (still laughing): He's an airplane pilot.
Kassidy: Airplane pilot?
Mommy: Yeah, he flies airplanes in the sky.
Kassidy (looking up to the sky): Where is he?
Mommy: At home with Rose.
Kassidy: Oh, okay.Comments:Add a comment:

In one of my December '04 entries, I made mention that changing Kassidy's diaper was similar to an Olympic event...I believe her brother is "Going for the Gold" in this even this year!!! I swear this kid is a contortionist when he's naked; arms flailing, pelvis twisting, legs kicking...he's being checked for steroids next week!! Now that he is a speed demon on all 4's there is no keeping him contained. Oy!!!
Know why Kassidy is too smart for anybody's own good?? We were at Target tonight. I was trying something on in the dressing room and there were various stickers on the floor...mostly the "Inspected By" stickers.
Kassidy picks one up and says, "It's a twenty-eight sticker." "It is?" I say. It was, the sticker, about the size of a pencil eraser had "Inspected by number 28" on it!!! Ug, look out preschool teachers and beyond!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Happy, happy day!! Liam has finally decided that being a screaming lump is no fun anymore. After weeks and months of rocking, scooting, screaming, crying, and getting stuck backwards under various pieces of furniture Liam has semi-mastered the CRAWL!!! HOORAY!!! He started working really hard at it on Thursday night, and could go forward a few times but them would straighten his legs out and fall; causing him to produce his ear-splitting screech (a screech that has been almost nonstop since January). Well today while Kassidy, my Mom, and I were out he finally figured it out. He is still a little wobbly, but he can certainly move. Bill and I are so happy about it, and I have to say he seemed like his old self again today, happy and content, since he could go where he wanted. This has, however, posed a problem for "Big Sister" since she is now being invaded. There were several times where she didn't know what to do with herself or her loot and tried to make a human barrier between Liam and the playroom. The Art-of-Sharing will take on a whole new meaning here at the Kelly House!
