Repeating various things that she sees or hears has become commonplace for Kassidy recently. However, there are some times when the thing that she chooses to pick up are just tooooo cute, that they have to be mentioned.
The first is marching...One of the programs she watches had an episode about rhythm/marching. She's always had this thing about pulling her pant legs up above her knees and walking, but the other day she did it, and was stomping around the kitchen saying, "March March March".
The second is the phone...for months she has been loving the phone, but she never really got the hang of it. She now pushes 1 or 2 buttons and puts it to her ear and babbles away. Usually something like this, "Meemee, Daddy, Cheese, Juice, incoherent baby jargon, Baby" Pretty funny. If the phone rings while holding it, she looks very shocked and quickly hands it to me.
The third is Rose...Poor Rose has been trying to get this kid to say her name since she found out Kassidy could say Nose and Toes. No luck. We were meeting Rose for lunch 2 weeks ago, and while I was getting Kassidy dressed I said, "We're gonna see Auntie Rose today". Kassidy replied, "Rose". When we got to lunch, she saw Rose walking toward the car, and she said "Rose". When Rose left the table to go get some crayons out of the van, Kassidy cried, "Rose, Rose, Rose" until she got back. Then yesterday I told Kassidy we were going to the park, and she looked at me and asked, "Rose?" To much!!
The fourth, my favorite, is Oh Geeze!!...Apparently I say this phrase more than I'm aware. I must, because I'm pretty sure I'm the only source for this new favorite toddler work combo. I don't remember exactly what the situation was, or why she said it, but about 2 weeks ago Kassidy and I were just hanging out and she said what sounded like "Aw Geeze". I said, "Did you say Aw Geeze?" Kassidy looked at me and got a huge smile on her face and said "Awwww Geeze" I about died. So now our new favorite think is getting Kassidy to say it. If you get her when she's hyper and playing she'll crinkle up her nose, shake head and say "Awwww Geeze", if she's just doing it to play repeater, she just says "Oh Geeze" quickly and moves on with her task at hand.
This crazy kid...I wonder where she gets it??Comments:Add a comment:

HOUSTON...We have a POTTY!! Woo Hoo!!! A few weeks ago, I bought a potty for Kassidy, just to have it around incase she felt compelled to use it. I wasn't really up for pushing her, or spending my days running up the steps every 30 minutes to strip her down and sit her on it. The child has followed me into the bathroom since she could crawl, so she knows the business that goes on in there. Anywho...I've put her on it a couple times but nothing has happened. She then started going to the bottom of the steps and grabbing her crotch. I'd ask her if she had to go potty, and she'd bolt up the stairs. When we got to the potty and undressed, she would sit there and say/sign "All Done" because she had already gone.
Saturday, she does her "Peepee" song and dance again. I take her up stairs, strip the southern half, and sit her down. Couple of seconds, nothing...she gets up, looks in the tub, flips through an issue of "Parenting" and climbs back on the potty, feet first. I adjust her, and she "USES THE POTTY"!!!! Happy Dance, Happy Dance. It was like 9:00am, but I had to go wake Bill up and let him know!! He wasn't as thrilled as I was.
She did it again tonight!!! YAY!!! I'm still not pushing it. I'm to tired being 7 months pregnant, and she'll get it eventually. I doubt I'll have the only Prom Queen who's still in Pull Ups!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Just to let everyone know, I took my 3 hour blood glucose test, and I DO NOT have Gestational Diabetes!! Yay!! Things are back to being pretty uneventful, except that the "books and charts" say I should have gained about 15-20 lbs by now, and I've gained about 7, total. I talked to the nurse today, and she didn't seem to concerned about it. She said my body is probably just working off the weight, and I've only gained baby, but lost my own weight. This is the same thing that happened with Kassidy, so I'm not to worried. I'll bring it up at the next Dr. appt. on April 3rd.
We are now 28 weeks. Kassidy was born 2 weeks early at 38 weeks, so if that's the case again, we've only got 10 weeks until Liam gets here!!! Yikes, that's not much time!!!
Here is what Liam is up to at 28 weeks:
Your baby now weighs about 2.7 lbs (1.2kg), measures about 10.4 inches (26cm) from crown to rump, and is around 16.7 inches (42cm) long. He is plumper and rounder, and his head and body are beginning to be in proportion.
Your baby now uses all of his senses. He can see, taste, recognize touch and the sound of your voice.
During the last trimester, your baby will receive antibodies from you through your placenta that will provide immunity from many diseases.
Your baby's adrenal glands are producing androgen-like substances. Androgens are normally male sex hormones, but in late pregnancy, when they reach the placenta they are turned into estrogen which in turn stimulates the production of prolactin in your body. Prolactin is the hormone needed for milk production. In this exchange, your baby is beginning to stimulate milk production in your breasts so that when he is born there will be food waiting for him.Comments:Add a comment:

Just when we thought this was going to be an uneventful pregnancy...I had a 1 hour glucose test last Tuesday. For those who don't know, you go in, drink a highly concentrated beverage (mine was orange, tastes like SWEET sunkist) wait an hour, and they take your blood. The reason for this is to check for Gestational Diabetes. I did the same test with Kassidy, and had no problems.
I hadn't heard from the Dr. office, so I figured they would have called me by now if something was out of wack. Well, they called today. Apparently my counts were high, showing a high level of sugar in my blood, and I also had my thyroid checked, and that was low. Double Wammy. Now I've got to go take a 3 hour Glucose test, that I have to fast for. I'll go in in the morning, drink the "Pop" then they'll take my blood at 30 mins, 1hr, 2hrs and 3hrs. Then, because of the thyroid, I'm being referred to an endocrinologist. UG!!!!!
From what I understand, alot of women fail the 1 hour sugar test, but pass the 3 hour one. I did eat a turkey sandwich on the way to the lab to get the test done, so that probably had something to do with it. I've also read that Gestational Diabetes can be controlled, and usually won't have any adverse effects on me or Liam as long as we nip it in the bud.
So, keep your fingers crossed that I pass the 3 hour, and I can still continue to eat all the ice cream I want!!! Thank You all!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Kassidy finished her first 6 week gymnastics class on Thursday!! At the end of the class she got a Certificate of Completion and a balloon. We really enjoyed it, and I'm thinking of signing her up again in the spring. It's amazing how much more coordinated she got in just 6 weeks! I'm excited to see what she'll be able to do in another 12 if we go back!!!
As we all know, Kassidy's one true love is her Hippo. He's a TY Pluffie, and I just love how soft and washable he is. We decided that Liam should have his own Pluffie. There are dozens of animals, but they had just introduced 3 new ones in February. A tiger, crocodile, and a horse. Bill liked the tiger best, so that's what I've been on the look out for, and I finally found him today!!! Yay!!
I haven't had an update on Liam for a while, so, I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow (Saturday) and here is what he's up to:
Your baby weighs more than 2 lbs (1000g), measures 9.6 inches from crown to rump (24cm) and its total length is about 15.3 inches (34cm). If your baby were born now, he would have about an 85% chance of surviving. Nonetheless, your baby still needs another 13 weeks of in utero development to be considered full term.
Your baby's eyes, no longer fused shut, are now open.
Your baby's skin still has a very wrinkled appearance, but it is protected and nourished by the covering of vernix, a waxy coating that keeps the skin supple.
Your baby looks almost like a full term baby, but is still much thinner and smaller than she will be at birth.Comments:Add a comment:
