Greetings and Salutations! Sorry to be so late with the 6 month update. Kassidy had her 6 month Dr. visit on the 17th. Everything is great!! She is now 16lbs 10oz, and she is 25.5 inches long. As you can see from her recent pictures, Kassidy's new past time is sitting up. She's actually gotten really good at it, and can be left in an upright position for quite some time, as long as there are interesting toys within her reach. If not, she topples like Jenga.
Halleluia, halleluia, Kassidy is sleeping THRU THE NIGHT!!! Her Dr. said that it wasn't nesessary to give her a night time feeding anymore since she's eating so much during the day. We (I) decided that the best way was Cold Turkey, and when Kassidy woke up that night at 3am, I just let her go back to sleep on her own. It has been pretty smooth sailing since then. She's only gotten up a few times, but is sleeping straight thru from 8-8:30pm until 5:30 or 6, and then she's back to sleep until 8am. After that, she's ready for her day to begin. She's been taking a pretty regular nap as well around 11:30 after her lunch, and is down for at least and hour. It's nice because I can actually get some stuff done.
Kassidy is eating everything in sight now, and has learned that when mommy has a plate or a bowl of food, that she should too. Needless to say, I don't get to eat very often when she is in eye range, and the nursing and eating thing is out the window, because she'd rather have what's on my plate, not under my shirt! Unfortunatly for her, she doesn't realize that she doesn't have any teeth, so chewing a cheese burger is a little tough.
Oh well, I'm gonna sign off for this update. Take care to all!!

As I sit here in the final hour of the first day of 2005, I can't help but think of all the things that happened in our lives in 2004, and what wonderful adventures are just down the road in 2005. We are truly blessed.
I look at our daughter and try to remember a time when I didn't live to see her laugh. A time when Bill looked more like a hero than he does now with Kassidy in his arms. A time that made my heart swell the way it does when I get my morning smile.
Kassidy is now nearly 5 1/2 months old. In a few weeks, she'll be a whole Half a Year!! My baby's first year is half over. They said it would change me, and I knew it would. And it did, but it really doesn't start sinking in until you're in the thick of it. Now that we're on a pretty regular routine, and I'm getting the wiggles and giggles figured out I see how much things really have changed. If you know me, and I'm sure you do, you know that I'm a Queen Bee. While I'm not selfish or self centered, I am a tiny bit spoiled =c) I sense now that that has changed, at least in my mind. I don't think of myself first amymore. I will go without if need be to make sure Kassidy is healty and happy.
I can see the changes in my amazing husband as well. While still a little on edge when Kassidy has a crying fit, he is a born father. There is nothing more heartwarming than watching the man I love down on all fours with our daughter trying to muddle through the words of "You Are My Sunshine", or when he does the "Woof Woof" when I sing "How Much is That Doggie in the Window?" And the most wonderful and selfless thing that he has ever done, and the most amazing gift he has ever given me is allowing me to be a Stay at Home Mom. There is nothing in the world I could ever do or say to tell him how much I love him for working extra hard so Kassidy can stay in her home everyday where she is so loved, and so that I don't have to miss one single milestone.
First only happen once, and I'm so lucky that I get to be there for them. So to the "Firsts" of 2004 that I have cherished, and the "Firsts" of 2005 that I'm looking forward to...Here's to my First full year as a First Time Mom.
Happy January FIRST, 2005.Comments:Add a comment:
